Rivers S’East Pman Drums Support For Magnus Abe .... Says Sen. Lee Maeba Should Step Aside
Ahead of 2011, the senatorial ambition of the secretary to the Rivers state government, Hon. Magnus Ngei Abe received a boost, as musicians from the South East branch of Rivers state Performing Musicians Employers Association (PMAN) mobilize it members in full to drum support and pledge backing for the SSG’s quest to emerge as senator representing the Rivers South East senatorial zone..
In a well attended rally conducted to show solidarity with the SSG by members of the group they assured Hon Abe that the South East branch of PMAN will do everything possible to ensure his emergence in the forthcoming general elections, pointing out that they are tired of politicians who pay only lip service to critical issues against the senatorial zone
Speaking during the gathering, Mr. Lexy Mueka, chairman of Rivers state chapter of PMAN, who incidentally also hails from that senatorial zone said there was no doubt Hon. Magnus Abe has turned out to be the most credible, unbeatable and quality candidate in the race for the south east senatorial seat in the state. This he said is further made obvious in view of his contributions to the socio- economic growth of the state and his articulate disposition.
While assuring the SSG of the south east musicians resolve, he assured him that Rivers musicians will come up with a bigger rally in support of his ambition. He urged the opposition groups, especially Senator Lee Maeba to have a rethink by stepping aside and giving a fresh candidate a chance having gone the full eight years without any visible progress in the zone in the interest of fair play, justice and equity.
Hear him “what we want is quality representation, someone with a match-word- with- action personality that can attract development to the south east zone; somebody like the secretary to the state government who obviously possesses these qualities. For this reason we are throwing our weight behind him so as to contribute his experience to bear on the south east senatorial zone.”
According to him: "The present support being expressed by the musicians from the Rivers south east zone and others shows the general acceptability of Hon. Abe as the true democrat that can bring about the desired changes clamoured for in the zone.
Lexy M maintained that musicians are ready to do everything humanly possible through mobilizing support, waxing music and intensive advocacy in the forefront to ensure Abe emerges the south east senator ahead of 2011 election.
